Stability and Seasickness

MV Narrative is a state-of-the-art vessel designed with advanced stability features to ensure passenger comfort. It is equipped with two midship stabilizers, one on each side, and features an optimized hull design to minimize motion. Additionally, the vessel will spend much of its time in port or near calmer coastlines, with a flexible itinerary to avoid rough seas whenever possible.

To further enhance stability, MV Narrative employs a combination of passive and active roll stabilization technologies. A specially engineered bilge keel system helps reduce vessel motion by up to 40% while at anchor, while an advanced fin stabilization system can decrease roll motion by up to 85% when underway in rough conditions. These fin stabilizers use real-time sensors to adjust their angles dynamically, counteracting the ship’s movement and providing a smoother experience for those on board.

While all ships experience some degree of motion, whether at sea, at anchor, or even in port, the thoughtful design of MV Narrative ensures that these movements remain as minimal as possible. Over time, residents typically acclimate to the gentle motions of the ship, making them an effortless part of everyday life at sea.

Fees in the Event of an Outbreak

Q: What happens if there is a virus outbreak and residents have to get off the ship for a long time period (one month or longer). What finances are residents responsible for?

A: Storylines has extensive technologies and protocols in place for virus outbreak prevention. For more information, please see Storylines Health Emergency or Pandemic Protocol.

Storylines’ plan is to continue operating through any pandemic. Should that become impossible due to governing laws, the ship’s liability insurance may cover some of the ship’s expenses, reducing the amount due by residents.

Unfavorable Conditions or Problems at Port

MV Narrative’s team of nautical experts monitors regional weather conditions and takes decisive action to ensure the vessel operates only in safe conditions. Options to avoid unpleasant sea conditions include changing course or extending time at port.

What if there is a hurricane, tsunami or other natural disaster?

Tsunamis
The open ocean is the safest place to be for ships located near a tsunami area. Most coastal areas have tsunami warnings which should give the captain time to move the ship away from the coast if it were docked.

Hurricanes / typhoons

In Case of Major Repairs

While every action has been taken to prevent unforeseen repairs, all ships incur them from time to time. A ‘floating-fund’ has been set aside for such instances.
