Creating lifelong bonds and sharing the global experience is amongst the core values of Storylines. To help facilitate this, regular mixers and themed networking opportunities will be held to help Storylines residents to get to know each other on and off the ship.
Global Youth Education / Worldschooling
Storylines Youth Education Program is the world’s first K-12 youth learning program in which students continuously travel around the world learning firsthand from real-world life experiences. Their families live on Storylines residential ship MV Narrative (full or part time) and explore exotic destinations as lifelong learners.
Is the Storylines World Schooling Program an accredited school?
We are exploring the various accrediting options at this time with the goal of becoming the world’s first accredited globally traveling school. Our educational consultant is currently preparing all the necessary documentation to complete that process.
What about social skills?
Friendships are easily formed within Storylines’ small group, community environment with the teacher having time to dedicate toward team building and collaboration in a more nurturing environment than a traditional classroom. Worldschool students are very good at making friends of all different ages, communicating with adults, and connecting with people of diverse backgrounds.
There are other social interactions that come with traditional schools that can be avoided such as bullying, peer pressure and other negative influences. Children are free to be themselves when they are not in a competitive, conforming environment. Students will also be able to stay in touch with their land-based friends through video calls, gaming, texting, social media, etc.
Can the onboard education program accommodate children with special needs such as autism?
We can have sensory chairs/hammocks and we can provide quiet working spaces for children who get overstimulated. We will also have a list of resources for families with unique educational requirements such as educational tools, software for autism and online classes for students with gifted talents. Our teachers will be trained in compassionate communication and some will have knowledge of special educational needs. Children who can assimilate into our small group learning environments may or may not need extra support. For example, if a child needs one-to-one support to be successful in that environment, that is not something we have accommodated for. However, we may be able to hire extra staff at families’ expense who require that service.
Will my child stay at grade level?
Yes, if you choose to follow a full course load of academics which may involve one-to-one tutors.
Will my child be able to get into a regular high school or college?
Yes, check with the school’s admission department for their exact requirements. Our academic advisor can help with this (and also
with record keeping and transcripts). See the College Prep section in the World Schooling Brochure for information about university admissions.
How much does the worldschooling education program cost?

Director of Entertainment
MV Narrative’s entertainment director ensures that a complete schedule of open and closed group activities is published through our resident app. This person will also help coordinate the private use of public spaces, schedule on-board enrichment and entertainment, keep track of local cultural events, as well as plan shoreside adventures and expeditions.
Onboard Social Activities
MV Narrative features an art studio, a cinema and performance theatre, a 5400 sq ft garden farm, a microbrewery, a comprehensive library, numerous bars and entertainment areas, a marina full of watercraft and up to 1,000 residents sharing their ideas, skills and hobbies.
Picture all of the activities that a small city of engaged residents could create – your time on board will be at least as exciting as your time ashore. Dancing, golf, bridge, book clubs, poker, cooking, business, arts, sports, movies, the list is endless.
Sail along with all the excitement of life: take some classes, join some clubs, sit in on a lecture or workshop. You and your friends and neighbors enjoy a world of opportunities within walking distance of your front door.
Is the onboard casino an actual casino where you can play and win actual money, or is it a recreational card room? What table and other games are available?
The enormous entertainment area on Deck 5 includes a sports bar, bowling alley, pool tables, casino and dance floor. You may play a game of pool, bowling or darts while enjoying games on the screen. The modern casino includes a mix of digital slot machines and tables for poker and other card games.
