Interior Furnishings Maintenance

Does Storylines maintain the interior furnishings? What about mattresses, couches, TVs and linens?

Full purchase units – The unit will be turn-key when you receive it. It’s your home and it will be up to you to maintain and upgrade it (outside the walls) at your own expense.

Shared purchase units – If you have a shared residence,  your quarterly fees are slightly higher and therefore cover most maintenance including interior furnishings and linens.

Residence Options and Upgrades

How much are we able to customize our cabins? As well as a choice of standard options, can we pay for additional changes?

The upgrades are generally going to apply to the layout options, finishing materials, furniture and appliances. Due to technical and engineering constraints, reconfiguration of the floor plans is not permitted. Walls, doors, plumbing and fixed furniture cannot be rearranged for example. There are set options and upgrades to choose from to customize your residence. These include:

– built-in furniture choices
– upgrade options (including appliances)
– two interior design styles to choose from, ‘coastal’ (as seen on the website) and ‘contemporary’.

Some options, such as the interior design style, are included and some are upgrades for an additional charge.

When can we choose?

We are working on all the different design options that will be available. We are hoping to have something ready to review with the purchase and sales agreements although you will not need to make final selections at that time.

Will there be options for organic mattresses, beds, and bed linens?

Yes, there will be an organic mattress available as an upgrade option.

Will virtual windows be standard in the inside units?

With regards to virtual windows, our intention is to include a virtual window / virtual balcony where cameras from outside would play onto a screen.

Can we utilize the space above the toilet in the RU1 units for cupboard storage?

That space contains piping, cabling, IT, exhaust and AC fan coil systems. It is not accessible from the residence.

Joining Two Residences

Prospective buyers are welcome to have two adjoining residences. Please note that monthly assessments for both residences will apply, with an occupancy credit.

Adjoining units can be connected internally by a fire door as an upgrade option. Externally, balcony boundaries can not be removed. For safety reasons all balconies are connected through a door (for escape and fire fighting purpose), allowing movement between balconies.

Accommodations for Disabilities

MV Narrative has been designed with accessibility standards in mind, inclusive of people with varying needs and abilities. Public spaces are laid out with minimal steps and ramp alternatives whenever possible. One of the swimming pools is accessible for people with mobility issues. Common area dimensions are designed to meet functional needs and create more space to maneuver mobility aids, such as doorways sized for wheelchair access.

When boarding and disembarking the ship, the gangway area is equipped with a ramp that can be placed over the steps and the tender service area allows access to wheelchair users and passengers with physical disabilities.

A number of wheelchair accessible residences can be designed following ADA requirements as a unit upgrade for unit types RU3 and higher. Pricing will be informed during the construction process. The scope of work to include:

  • Increased clear width of door openings
  • Grab bars in bathroom and shower
  • Roll-in sill free shower
  • Automatic toilet flush
  • Compliant heights for shelves, mirrors, towel rails, sinks and vanity units
  • Compliant bed and desk heights
  • Careful placement of electrical socket
  • Emergency call arrangements with alarm in hotel manager’s office and bridge
