Gratuities are already part of the all-inclusive offerings, therefore, conventional tipping practices, such as at the end of a meal, for example, are not necessary and discouraged. Residents may, however, choose to provide extra gratuities from time to time at their discretion in private or for excursion operators and other services they may engage in on shore.
Dining & Room Service
Most meals and beverages are included across the ship’s 20 restaurants and bars, as well as room service. Feeling peckish at 3 am? Just pick up the phone and place your order: meals and snacks are offered 24 / 7.
What percentage of the eateries are open what percentage of the time?
It has not been defined yet and will change based on resident demand, among other factors, once the MV Narrative sails. There will always be different cuisines to choose from.
Cooking Onboard
You may cook for yourself at any time in one of the resident lounge areas with kitchen facilities located on every residential deck throughout the vessel. Throw a dinner party, entertain your friends and let us clean up after you’re done.
In addition, every residence comes with a fridge and pantry space for storing your own provisions as well as basic equipment for preparing toast or reheating any saved portions.
Can you provide additional information about rules regarding the use of kitchens and hosting meals?
We anticipate that people will only be using the kitchens and (related equipment) on their deck, the entertainment kitchens on Deck 16, and the BBQ area. If we find that additional rules need to be made, they will be put forward to the HOA. You can host and consume your meal anywhere that makes sense – you might like to head to the upper decks and dine al fresco for example.
Regarding hosting meals, there are also private event spaces on the ship, such as those on Deck 11 with stunning forward facing views.
Do we purchase our own ingredients or are those mostly included and available in the market?
Our intention is to have some ingredients included in the annual fees if they are used responsibly. We welcome feedback from the resident community to understand how we can do this in a sustainable and cost-effective way that limits waste.
Onboard Laundry Service
Daily pick up and delivery wash and fold service is included as part of annual assessments. You may use the self-service laundries on board should you wish.
